Cigars 101
Start by choosing a cigar that suits your taste and budget. If you’re new to cigars, it’s best to start with a milder option.
Cut the cigar. Use a cigar cutter or a sharp knife to make a clean cut about a quarter inch from the head of the cigar. This will ensure a smooth draw and prevent the cigar from unraveling.
Toast the foot. Hold the cigar over a flame and gently rotate it, while heating the foot (the end you will smoke). This helps to dry out the cigar and get it ready to smoke.
Light the cigar. Hold the cigar over the flame and draw in gently. Keep rotating the cigar as you light it to ensure an even burn.
Smoke the cigar. Take slow, gentle draws, savoring the taste and aroma. Remember to hold the smoke in your mouth for a moment before exhaling.
Ash the cigar. As the ash builds up, gently tap the cigar to remove it. This will help maintain an even burn.
Enjoy the cigar. Take your time and savor the experience.
Properly dispose of the cigar. Once the cigar is finished, carefully extinguish it in an ashtray. Do not throw the cigar on the ground or leave it smoldering.
